To obtain a crisp smooth finished appearance, table linen should be ironed. Small ironers with the capability to produce this finish have been available for some time. They are easy to operate, maintain and do not occupy much space.

Ironers are like dryers, but with one exception. In addition to drying fabrics, the ironer puts a smooth finish on the fabric which is accomplished by a highly polished cylinder heated be either gas, electric, or steam. The heat from the cylinder does the drying and puts the smooth finish on fabrics with ribbons guiding the fabric over the polished cylinder back to the operator with the finished product. Ironing production is governed mainly by the diameter and length of the cylinder. The larger the diameter and length, the more work the ironer can produce.

Today's ironers can produce great looking table linen with all fabrics. It is very important that a reliable laundry machinery dealer who is familiar with ironers and today's fabrics be consulted to help in choosing the right size ironer for your needs.
