The advancement of laundry machinery technology, with new and improved fabrics, has made laundering in-house much easier. With all the fabrics available, ans some fabrics requiring special laundering, it is important to select a washer having the flexibility to handle these fabrics.

Most commercial washers are loaded from the front rather than the top, like a home-style washer. The extract cycle in a commercial washer is teh same as the spin cycle in a top-load washer. Commercial washers came in different extract speeds, which are rated by RPMs (rrvolutions per minute), ir Gs (the force created by these revolutions). The correct extract speed, the length of extract and water tempratures are critical to the amount of wrinkles that are present in a fabric.

The manner in which a washer sits on the floor is called mounting. Washers are available in solid-mount or soft-mount models. Soft-mount washers have their own suspension system to accommodate high-extract speed and reduce the vibration that high speed extract creates. Soft-mount machines can be installed on a second floor or higher level, and can be mounted on a wood floor. Solid-mount washers must be mounted on a ground-level cement floor that has earth beneath it (no crawl space) and must be bolted to the cement floor. High-extract washers come in either solid-mount or soft-mount. Solid-mount washers require a cement floor of at least six inches to 24 inches deep depending on the extract speed.

Controls for wash cycles and water temperatures on some commercial washers can be programmed. The fabrics to be washed dictate the type of washer needed.

Many factors determine the size and type of washer needed to do the job. A professional laundry machineery distributor specializing exclusively in the sizing and installation of in-house laundries, with knowledge of fabrics, can guide you in making the right decisions.
